Staff said the project funding model includes assessments to property owners, and presented a preliminary assessed amount for the project area (total assessable amount just over $81,000).
Council members asked questions about expected road life, heavy‑truck impacts from adjacent projects and why the project is not a full reconstruction. Staff said the mill‑and‑overlay approach is intended to delay more expensive reconstruction and that lower traffic volumes on the affected streets will help extend pavement life. Staff also said preliminary conversations with Bituminous Roadways indicate a mid‑August start and completion this year.
Member Lugar moved to award Resolution 250766 and Member Anstead seconded. The council voted in favor.
