The Greeley County Board held the public budget hearing required for the FY2018–2019 county budget and then adopted the budget as advertised. The minutes record a proposed property tax request of $1,564,690 and a proposed tax rate of 0.164409. There was no recorded public testimony opposing the budget during the hearing.
Following discussion and an executive session the board voted to adopt the FY2018–2019 budget and to apply an additional 1% over the levy lid for growth as permitted.
Earlier in the year the board also approved employee-benefit adjustments that affect county finances: it adopted a cash-in-lieu option for full‑time employees (monthly amounts of $350 single / $600 family) and authorized a deductible buy-down agreement and Section 125 Premium Only Plan administrative agreement with First Concord and related providers, effective July 1, 2018.
The minutes document budget-authority transfers to cover several elected-official budgets that had exceeded departmental appropriations and list the county’s decisions on insurance and benefit administration for the fiscal year.
