Greeley County approves multiple subdivisions, updates administrative subdivision rules and accepts planning official's resignation
Summary
Throughout 2018 the board approved administrative subdivisions, tabled at least one parcel pending title verification, amended Planning & Zoning rules to allow certain family or lender-required administrative subdivisions, and accepted Franz Trumler’s resignation as Planning & Zoning Administrator.
The Greeley County Board of Commissioners processed multiple subdivision and administrative subdivision requests during 2018. The board opened public hearings where required, accepted administrative subdivision approvals when applications met required conditions and—in at least one case—tabled action pending title verification by a title insurer.
In late August the board held a public hearing on proposed changes to the Planning & Zoning Regulations and adopted a change to Section 3.32B to allow administrative subdivisions for secondary homes for a farm family member or when a lending agency requires a subdivision to obtain a loan. The change retains final approval authority with the county commissioners.
Planning & Zoning Administrator Franz Trumler submitted his resignation in May and the board accepted it with regret; Trumler offered to remain to train a replacement. Trumler and other staff continued to present administrative subdivisions and related permits through the summer and fall meetings, which the board approved by roll call vote when all statutory requirements were satisfied.
