The Custer County Board convened as the Board of Equalization on March 10 and acted on a series of tax-list corrections and permissive-exemption requests.
Assessor Taylor handed out tax corrections and the board approved adjustments, including a correction for Connie Bottorf tied to a state audit change. The board also approved a tax-list correction for Richard W. and Linda Maas following an audit adjustment. On permissive exemptions, Commissioner Longmore read an application from Callaway Christian Academy LLC (a homeschool co-op) and the board voted to deny that exemption, citing absence of supporting documents. The board approved exemption applications recommended by the assessor for American Legion Post #220 for specified parcels and approved an exemption for Creation Instruction Association/Boneyard Creation Museum, based on the assessor’s recommendation.
All recorded votes in the minutes on these items were carried by roll call. The Board of Equalization then adjourned and the board reconvened as the County Board at 9:22 a.m.
The minutes do not record appeals, further documentation submissions, or conditions attached to the approvals or denials; they reflect the board’s determinations recorded in that meeting’s official actions.
