Public hearing on Waveny Park Anderson Pond tree removals continued to April 20

Angela Jamieson read the application: "Waveny Park is requesting to remove approximately 50, 10 inch in diameter or larger Norway maple trees and selective shrubbery in the adjoining areas to the northeast and south of the existing Anderson Pond and replant with native species" and to add stone steps and additional footpaths for better viewing access. The applicant asked that no presentation be made at the March 16 meeting; the commission formally adjourned the public hearing to April 20 and exchanged procedural notes about incoming materials that staff expects to receive.
Why it matters: The proposal would alter vegetation immediately adjacent to Anderson Pond; the commission will consider the planting plan and other materials when the hearing resumes. Staff indicated additional records and a finalized planting plan are expected prior to the April 20 session.
