Waconia board adopts several second-read policies including Title IX and crisis management

The Waconia Public Schools Board approved the second readings and adopted multiple board policies at its Dec. 15 meeting. The motion to approve the second-read policies was made by Hagen and seconded by Rosin; the board voted "all in favor" and the motion carried.
Policies adopted on second reading included 516 Student Medication; 524 Internet Acceptable Use; 522 Title IX Sex Nondiscrimination Policy, Grievance Procedure and Process; 534 School Meals Policy; 613 Graduation Requirements; 707 Transportation of Public School Students; 802 Disposition of Obsolete Equipment and Material; and 806 Crisis Management Policy. The board did not record extended debate in the public transcript; the actions were recorded as a single approval of the listed policies.
