The Town of Northborough Open Space Committee on March 23 discussed outreach options for a Rice Avenue property (listed on committee materials as Line 50) that adjoins Edmond Hill Woods and has appeared on real-estate sites with conflicting statuses.
Committee members said SVT sent letters to landowners and that the committee received one request for more information; the Rice Avenue parcel was highlighted as of special interest because it borders town conservation land. Leslie reported seeing a Redfin listing showing the parcel for $1,400,000 and about 18 acres; Brian noted Coldwell Banker and Realty Executives Boston West also show the listing as active.
Committee Chair offered to try contacting the realtor and said he would take that off the new town representative's plate. "I'll see if I can get someone on the phone who would chat about it," the Chair said, and agreed to report back at the next meeting.
No formal acquisition decision was made; the committee agreed to continue outreach and to follow up with Meredith Houghton of SVT and the realtor to clarify listing status and any conservation options.
