Board accepts personnel recommendations, rules on three expulsion appeals

For student number 2, Miss Bradley moved and Wofford seconded a motion to deny the appeal; the board voted 7-0 to deny it. Miss Davenport moved to deny the appeal for student number 3 and the board voted 7-0 to deny that appeal.
The board recorded the roll and voice votes during each action but did not discuss discipline specifics in open session. The Next Steps Learning Center was identified as the alternate placement for the granted appeal. No additional details about the students, their schools or the specific disciplinary findings were presented in public session, consistent with district rules restricting discussion of individual students during public comment.
