Beardstown council approves $10,000 contribution for Abraham Lincoln statue project

Alderperson Eric Harbin moved to approve the contribution, and Alderperson Shawn Taylor seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded five yeas (Lisa Buhlig, Mary Davis, Eric Harbin, Keith Schramm and Shawn Taylor), no nays and one abstention from Alderperson Ron Culves. The motion passed and the minutes note the contribution will be paid 50% from the Tourism Fund and 50% from the General Fund.
The measure was taken as part of routine business; no additional debate or amendment is recorded in the minutes. The council proceeded to other agenda items after the vote.
