Rep. French Hill said the House Financial Services Committee has expressed concern about large-language models and related products, requested a briefing from the Treasury Department, and is pursuing hearings and roundtables to better understand risks and benefits.
"We've actually asked the Treasury, you know, for a brief there," Hill said. He told interviewers the committee has held roundtables with the private sector and users, and he expects further work this year including public hearings.

He advocated a measured approach that uses regulatory sandboxes and close supervision to let compliance, regulators and private firms evaluate effects before broad deployment.
The chair did not announce a formal hearing schedule during the segment but said the committee's work on AI compliance and oversight will continue.
