Board approves multiple consent items, contracts and appointments; Lemmon appointed to Our City, Our Home oversight committee

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors moved through a large consent calendar and adoption items on Tuesday, approving routine ordinances, resolutions, and a series of appointments and contracts.

Items 1–20 were approved on the consent calendar on a 10–0 voice/roll‑call. The board also finalized a number of administrative actions taken as 'same house, same call,' including amendments to the administrative code to create an artist certification program (Item 21), an exemption for a health service systems insurance contract (Item 22), and creation of a small‑business construction relief program (Item 23). The board adopted a $3.5 million appropriation to expand immigration legal defense and community response services (Item 24) and approved the fourth amendment to a biosolids contract increasing the total by approximately $20.7 million (Item 25).

Item 31, a commercial lease with Mel’s Drive In at 801 Mission Street, was adopted after a brief Budget and Finance Committee referral discussion. Multiple other consent resolutions (items 25–33) were adopted without separate debate.

On appointments, the board approved appointees to the Early Childhood Community Oversight and Advisory Committee and the Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee. The board took a divided vote on William (Billy) Lemmon for seat 8 on the Our City, Our Home Oversight Committee; the nomination passed 7–3 with Supervisors Fielder, Chan and Chen recorded as voting no. The remainder of the slate (Chanel Williams and Julia D'Antonio) was approved unanimously.

Other routine committee reports (items 42–43) and several proclamations/resolutions recognizing Sikh Awareness Month (Item 47) and World Prematurity Awareness Day (Item 49) were approved without objection.
