Maywood trustees approve omnibus contracts covering sewer, road and improvement projects

The omnibus motion, moved by Trustee A. Sanchez and seconded by Trustee H. Yarbrough, covered items A–W. Notable approvals included a $47,950 contract to Suburban General Construction for Madison Street storm‑sewer repairs, $282,480.98 to J. Nardulli Concrete for the 2018 Alley and Roadway Improvement Project, and $250,621.65 to Triggi Construction for 20th Avenue and Warren Street improvements. The motion passed unanimously among members present (Mayor Edwenna Perkins; Trustees H. Yarbrough, I. Brandon, A. Sanchez, K. Wellington and M. Lightford). Trustee R. Rivers was absent.
Trustee K. Wellington questioned several line items in a statement for legal services (Omnibus Item E), pointing to specific charges requiring clarification. The board voted to defer Item E to the next meeting so the village attorney could review the entries and provide additional information.
Also approved were routine and recurring charges, including software maintenance, fuel purchases and water service reimbursements. The board’s action authorizes the finance department to disburse the listed payments and proceed with the awarded contracts.
The board did not change the record on the deferred legal statement; Attorney Michael Jurusik will report back on the contested entries at the next meeting. The board adjourned at 10:44 p.m.
