Harlan City Council on May 20 set a public hearing for 5:15 p.m. June 3 to consider the proposed sale of city-owned property at 506 Pine Tree after staff reported one bid of $5,000.
Staff noted the bid exceeded the minimum the city had reset for the property and that the proposed purchaser would comply with recently added development restrictions. "So it's the 506 Pine Tree Property. We put it out there, and we got one bid," a staff member said during the packet review.
Council voted to set the hearing date by roll call. The hearing will provide an opportunity for formal public comment and for council to consider competing bids or objections before any final sale is authorized.
