Montgomery County Fiscal Court approves reappointments, ARPA addendum and routine financial items

The Montgomery County Fiscal Court took a series of routine but consequential administrative votes during its Oct. 15, 2024 meeting, approving reappointments and authorizations for county financial and administrative matters.
The court reappointed James McCarty and Peggy Coburn to three-year terms on the Montgomery County Code of Ethics Board, with terms to expire Oct. 31, 2027. The motion to reappoint both members was made and seconded, and the court approved the reappointments by voice vote.
The court also appointed Mark Collier to a three-year term on the Code of Ethics Board to fill the seat vacated by the passing of Floyd Moon; that term will expire Oct. 31, 2027. The motion to appoint Collier was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Administratively, the court voted to enter the sheriff's official receipt for the 2024 property tax bills into the court order book. The court then approved the county treasurer's report, including manual checks, additional vouchers, bank transfers and budget transfers; Commissioner Ralph Charles reviewed the bills for October before a voice vote carried the approval.
On budgetary matters, the court approved an addendum to a prior resolution authorizing the provision of an additional $175,000 in funds received through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for capital improvement projects and maintenance and repairs to county-owned buildings. A motion to approve the resolution was made and carried by voice vote.
All recorded actions during the meeting were passed on voice votes; no roll-call tallies were read aloud in the transcript.
