The Logan County Board of Commissioners approved county claims totaling $118,983.05 and completed several administrative actions at its April 15, 2026, meeting in Stapleton.
During the open session, the board voted to allow the presented claims after auditing the detail. Clerk/Assessor Jennifer Nicholson recorded the claims covering County General, General Road, County Library and 911 Emergency Management accounts, with the clerks’ total of $118,983.05 entered into the minutes. The motion to allow the claims was moved by Nathan Kramer and seconded by Jon Hill and passed unanimously.
The board also authorized the chairman to sign a Management Representation letter to Contryman Associates, P.C., the county's auditor, and approved a draft of the financial statements dated June 30, 2025, subject to any changes required for disclosures after receipt of attorney and insurance (NIRMA) representations. Kramer moved the motion, Hill seconded, and the vote was unanimous.
Other administrative actions included declaring scrap metal at the Road Department surplus property (motion by Kramer, seconded by Hill; unanimous), and approving a quote from Great Plains Communications to update courthouse phones and install wi‑fi (unanimous vote). Highway & Weed Superintendent Richard Cook was not present but left a written report for the board.
Treasurer Richard Gewecke presented a Treasurer's report and a certification closing the public tax sale. With no further regular business, the board adjourned the regular session before reconvening as the Board of Equalization later in the morning. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
