The Little Falls City Council on Oct. 6 adopted Resolution 2025-43 to execute four grant agreements supporting hanger rehabilitation at the Little Falls–Morrison County Airport.
City staff said the grants include two Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement Program (AIP) awards and two Minnesota Department of Transportation Office of Aeronautics agreements (contract numbers 1061361 and 1061480, state project 4901-68). Staff listed the four grants as $801,635; $505,080; $21,095.66; and $13,291.58, and said anticipated 2026 grants would further reduce the local share to approximately $34,387.24, split 50/50 between the city and county.
Addressing the council, city staff recommended adopting the agreements so the project work — awarded earlier contingent on grant funding — could proceed. "We were looking for the council to approve those 4 grants so we can move forward with the project," the staff member said. The council adopted the resolution by a roll call vote.
Council members welcomed the grants, noting the project’s local economic and safety benefits and urging continued public engagement as design and environmental review proceed. Staff said additional reimbursement grants are expected in 2026 and that the city will work with partners to manage the local match.
