DDA supports downtown parklets as three restaurants seek outdoor seating; four parking spaces to be removed

Meiangassner described the parklets as a growth opportunity for new and existing downtown businesses. She said the parking subcommittee has been developing a signage campaign to direct residents and visitors to available parking elsewhere in the city to mitigate the loss of spaces.
Council discussion noted support for encouraging downtown business growth while also acknowledging the need to manage parking supply and wayfinding. No formal ordinance or vote on parklet permits was recorded; applications were said to be under review by relevant city bodies.
