Vero Beach council denies lien-reduction request for paver work; motion passes 5–0

The City Council voted unanimously to deny a lien-reduction request in a code-enforcement matter brought before the council Feb. 10.
Chief Curry presented the case for a property referenced in staff documents and said the owner did not obtain code-compliance certification; staff recommended against reducing the recorded lien. "The total lien with recording fees and such as written on the report is $4,006.80, and I do not recommend any reduction," Chief Curry said. A councilmember moved to deny the lien-reduction request and the motion passed on a 5–0 roll-call vote.
Council discussion noted the property's absence from the hearing and that the contractor performing paver work apparently did not obtain permits. The clerk recorded the 5–0 vote in favor of denying the reduction; no public commenter representing the property appeared.
