The Audit and Budget Advisory Committee of Miami-Dade County Public Schools elected Steven Hunter Johnson as chair and Anthony Atala as vice chair during its Dec. 9 meeting. Chief Auditor John Goodman called for nominations; Anthony Atala nominated Johnson, the motion was seconded and the committee approved by voice.
The elections were followed by routine business: the committee approved the minutes of its Sept. 16, 2025 meeting and proceeded to receive multiple audit presentations and reports.
The committee's officer selections take effect immediately for the committee's internal governance; no roll-call vote counts were recorded in the meeting transcript.
The meeting then moved on to scheduled audit presentations and informational items, including the district's external audit, impact-fee statements, school and property inventory audits, a capital-maintenance informational memorandum, the OIG annual report, and several charter-school audited statements.
