Cherokee County TDA approves budget amendment, facility remediation and several advertising buys

Sandra Daley, clerk to the board, called the Cherokee County Tourism Development Authority to order on July 14, 2025, at the Cherokee County Courthouse and led a moment of silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The board — comprised of Sandra Daley, Sherry McGreggory, Cal Stiles, Joan Posey Nuemann and Hank Parker Jr. — approved the meeting agenda and the June 9 minutes by unanimous vote.
The board approved a budget amendment to add a dedicated line for maintenance and repairs after a motion by Cal Stiles, seconded by Hank Parker Jr. The motion passed unanimously.
The board then approved a contract for mold remediation and AC duct cleaning with North Georgia Mold and AC Duct Cleaning for $6,650. The motion to approve the scope and quote was made by Hank Parker Jr. and seconded by Joan Posey Nuemann; the vote was unanimous.
Members also approved funding for professional development and marketing: the board authorized up to $449 for one full conference ticket plus room and board to attend the outdoor economy conference (motion by Cal Stiles, seconded by Joan Posey Nuemann); approved up to $3,000 for a full-page ad or two half pages plus a banner ad in Flamingo Magazine (motion by Hank Parker Jr., seconded by Sherry McGreggory); and approved a $289 inside back cover ad in the Cherokee Scout Resource Directory (motion by Joan Posey Nuemann, seconded by Hank Parker Jr.). All motions were unanimously approved.
With no further business, Hank Parker Jr. moved to adjourn; Sandra Daley seconded and the board adjourned.
Meeting attendees listed in the minutes included, in addition to the board members, director Casey Kerr and participants Victoria Ivey, Summer Garrett and Ralph Robinson. Funding sources for the approved expenditures were not specified in the meeting minutes.
