The board unanimously approved the meeting agenda and the consent calendar, which included the unofficial minutes for Nov. 25 and a claims and audit docket totaling $107,089.92. On a separate motion the board acknowledged the hire of Richard Warznie as a full-time dispatcher, with a hire date of Nov. 21, 2025, a starting wage of $18.39 per hour and eligibility for county benefits.
The board reviewed and authorized the Public Assistance Federal Emergency Management Agency (DR‑MI Grant Agreement 4880) to provide supplemental disaster-relief funding in eligible areas and authorized the chair to sign the agreement. Commissioners also approved a request to extend a training period for Kelli Carter, Legal Secretary–Victim Advocate, for an additional 30 days and allowed up to 40 hours per week pending re-evaluation after the new year.
On county finance matters, the board approved renewal with Highstreet Insurance for municipal liability coverage, crime, cyber, public officials bond and workers’ compensation at a total premium of $237,606, effective Jan. 1, 2026 through Jan. 1, 2027. The board moved $15,171.82 from the Delinquent Tax Revolving Fund to the Public Improvement budget to balance the 2025 budget and approved purchase of a Konica‑Minolta Bizhub 4751i copier/printer for $3,188.87 for the Central Filing office.
The board also authorized Mercantile Bank to remove Ann Galbraith from Account #4510188818 and to add access for named county officials (Charles E.
