Broward board picks four finalists for general counsel, schedules public interviews Dec. 11'12

The board agreed to conduct one-on-one interviews on Dec. 11 and a public interview and vote starting at noon on Dec. 12 (special school board meeting). Trustees discussed logistics, public comment procedures (public comment reserved for the public meeting rather than the one-on-ones), and the option for remote one-on-one interviews. Members agreed permitting a small number of finalists increases choice and reduces the risk of candidates withdrawing.
The board asked staff to arrange interview times and noted candidates may watch board meetings online rather than attend in person. The move sets an expedited schedule for filling the Office of General Counsel vacancy; a final hire will require a separate appointment vote at a later date.
