Beardstown approves street closure for church event and sets Halloween hours

The Beardstown City Council approved a temporary street closure and set community Halloween hours during its Oct. 8, 2024 meeting.
Alderperson Dawn Seward moved and Alderperson Eric Harbin seconded approval of a request from Ebenezer Encuentro con Dios Church to close Edwards Street between Third Street and Fourth Street on Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for a mission concert; the motion passed unanimously by voice vote.
Alderperson Mary Davis moved and Alderperson Eric Harbin seconded a motion to set Halloween trick-or-treat hours for Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; that motion also passed unanimously by voice vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:25 p.m. on a motion by Alderperson Dawn Seward, seconded by Alderperson Mary Davis.
