The Beardstown City Council approved a revised tentative agreement with International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 3155, representing the city's Fire & Ambulance employees, during its Oct. 8, 2024 meeting.
The council entered executive session at 6:18 p.m. under Exemption 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(2) (collective bargaining). After resuming regular session at 7:19 p.m., Alderperson Eric Harbin moved to approve the tentative agreement. Alderperson Ron Culves moved to amend the tentative agreement and Alderperson Harbin seconded the amendment motion.
The minutes record the following amendments approved by roll call 6–0: Appendix A was changed to a three-year period (May 1, 2024–April 30, 2027); the rate for part-time employees was removed; Appendices B and C were removed; and Section 9.9 (Maternity Leave) was amended to add that the employee must continue to pay the employee portion of the medical insurance premium. The amended tentative agreement was then approved as amended by roll call vote 6–0 (Yea: Lisa Buhlig, Ron Culves, Mary Davis, Eric Harbin, Keith Schramm and Dawn Seward). Chris Baer and Shawn Taylor were absent.
