At its Jan. 19 working meeting, the Hempfield Area School District board packet included several education, policy and extracurricular items for board consideration.
Education Chair Jennifer Bretz presented a motion asking the board to approve the Comprehensive Plan that had been presented to the board in March 2025. The School Board section included a recommended motion to approve the district school calendar for 2026–2027.
Policy Chair Tracy Miller listed first and second readings to put policies on 30-day review and noted updated administrative regulations. The agenda also requested approval of a Literature & Cultural Experience Club trip to England and Ireland coordinated through Education First (EF) Tours, with travel dates to be determined and all costs to be covered through fundraising.
The board packet sought approval of fundraisers generally submitted by the schools, and asked to approve the Hempfield Area High School competitive cheer team’s trip to Orlando, Florida, Feb. 3–9, 2026, to compete in a national competition; the agenda states the costs will be covered by the booster organization through fundraising.
These items were presented as recommended motions in the working meeting agenda. The transcript lists the motions and descriptions but does not record final roll-call votes for these specific education and policy items in the meeting text.
