Council told of multiple rezoning and subdivision items; public hearings scheduled

The council heard a planning commission report March 18 outlining several land-use items that will move through public hearings and, if approved by planning, will come to the council for final action.
A rezoning application for a parcel behind the property of Raymond Rasco was approved by the planning commission and, if forwarded, will appear before the council in April; the commission approved rezoning that will make the parcel R-2 to match adjacent zoning. Commissioners also approved a simple subdivision on Magenta Lane (off Chelsea Road).
The planning commission scheduled a public hearing in April for a rezoning of a parcel located behind the Dollar General; if the commission approves the request it will be placed on a council agenda in May. Separately, a primary plat for a development called High Point on Joyner Town was reported; the plat would subdivide property into R-1 and R-3 lots, with one parcel owned by RMH planned for R-3 homes.
No formal council votes on those land-use items occurred at the March 18 meeting; the council was informed of the planning commission’s actions and upcoming public hearings.
