Among personnel actions, the board appointed Brian Gross to the Act 93 position of Assistant Physical Plant Director at a prorated salary of $50,000 (PN-267-26); confirmed Brad Minemyer as Welding Instructor at Johnstown High School (PN-275-26); and approved Christina Keener as a Special Education teacher at Johnstown Elementary School (PN-276-26). The board accepted several resignations, including a staff resignation effective Feb. 11, 2026, and acknowledged the resignation of the JMS Indoor Colorguard Advisor (PN-298-26). The board also approved lists of Extended School Year teachers and paraprofessionals and JMS CSI tutors for 2026 (PN-278–280-26).
The board created administrative and support positions and modified job descriptions: a contracted School Police Officer position and revised position descriptions for Safety Coordinator and School Police Officer were approved (PN-293 and PN-295-26). The board eliminated a grant-funded Teen Parenting Fatherhood and Data Specialist position effective Jan. 14, 2026 (PN-296-26) and authorized creation of a grant-funded Teen Parenting Case Manager (PN-297-26).
Policy updates were approved across academic and operational areas. The board approved several policies with the second reading waived (E-80-26) including Academic Standards, Curriculum, Athletics, Diabetes Management, District Social Media, and Title I Parental Involvement; additional policies were approved on first review (E-81-26), and the Code of Conduct and 2026–2029 Guidance Plan handbooks were adopted (E-82-26).
The minutes record the motions were polled as all ayes. Several employee appointments and vacancies are contingent upon receipt of required payroll and clearance documents; effective dates are to be determined by the administration. The board adjourned at 6:35 p.m.
