The City of Medford Committee of the Whole voted on Feb. 9 to recommend the Common Council approve revised pool hours and scheduled morning water-aerobics classes.
Staff reported the pool’s water-aerobics program has grown, prompting a proposal to add classes Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., move adult swim from 7:00–7:30 p.m. to 12:15–1:00 p.m. Monday–Saturday, and keep open swim hours at 1:00–7:00 p.m. Monday–Saturday and 1:00–5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Michael Bub moved and Christine Weix seconded a motion to recommend the new pool schedule to Council. The motion carried by a 7–1 vote; those recorded voting yes were Ken Coyer, Randy Haynes, Dave J. Brandner, Christine Weix, Clem Johnson, Laura Holmes and Michael Bub. Tim Hansen was recorded as voting no. Committee discussion touched on pool ending time, staffing needs and community access.
The Committee forwarded the recommendation to the Common Council for final approval.
