Board approves resignations, hires, coach appointments, facility uses and WPIAL readmission application

At its Feb. 18 meeting the Albert Gallatin Area School Board approved a range of personnel and administrative items, including resignations and hires, coach appointments, facility-use requests and an athletics readmission application.
Under a blanket personnel motion moved by Ryan Robinson and seconded by Dan Janesko, the board accepted the resignation of Shelly Hall, Elementary Intervention Specialist, effective March 6, 2026; rescinded the motion to hire Noelle Shaneman as Speech Instructor; and approved the hire of Bradleigh Lincoln as a temporary Lifeskills Instructor at Friendship Hill. The blanket approval also recorded leaves for custodian Jeff Azzardi (paid and nonpaid leave, Dec. 29, 2025–Feb. 20, 2026), Technology Assistant Amanda Leichliter (intermittent FMLA beginning Jan. 19, 2026) and cafeteria employee Autumn Dziak (nonpaid leave Jan. 27–Feb. 25, 2026).
The board approved multiple coach hires/rehirements for one season pending receipt of proper documentation, including assistant and volunteer positions for boys baseball and girls softball at the high school and head/assistant positions at the middle school. The minutes list specific assignments (for example, Head Boys Baseball — Jeff Rush; Assistant Boys Baseball — Dylan Rush and Jim Hartley; Assistant Boys Baseball — Jason Bradburn; Assistant Girls Softball — Megan Angelo) but note that these are contingent on completion of required paperwork.
Administratively, the board approved additions to the substitute list (including Kyra Myers, Anthony Watson and others); granted use of the AG South Gym for a youth softball camp on April 12, 2026 (contact: Makayla Munchinski) and for an AG Class of 2031 dance on Feb. 13, 2026 (contact: Brooke Patterson); approved the high school football program’s request to apply for readmission into the WPIAL effective for the 2026–27 season; and authorized Mary Kendall, music instructor, to attend the PMEA regional orchestra competition March 5–7, 2026 at a cost not to exceed $350.00.
All motions recorded in these items passed with all members present voting in favor. The minutes do not include discussion of candidates’ qualifications, coach contracts or approvals contingent on specified certificates beyond the general note that hires are pending receipt of required documents.
