The Medford Common Council on March 23 approved several Public Works equipment purchases and awarded bids for street maintenance and materials.
Council accepted Wheelers of Medford’s quote for a 2026 Chevrolet Silverado not to exceed $40,398.32, with funds to come from the DPW Construction Equipment fund (account #43-56320-39410). Clem Johnson moved and Ken Coyer seconded the motion; the minutes record the motion as carried.
The council also approved McCoy Construction and Forestry’s quote for an end loader plow blade not to exceed $44,500, funded from the same DPW account; that motion was moved by Clem Johnson and seconded by Christine Weix and carried.
For street maintenance, the council awarded the 2026 street striping contract to Jensen Chip & Seal Coating at a cost not to exceed $13,875.40; funding was included in the 2026 General Fund budget. The material and equipment bid awards — which list vendors and unit rates for concrete, washed rock, backhoe and bulldozer hourly rates, truck & driver rates, and related items — were awarded to vendors including Haas Sons, Francis Melvin, Precision Dirtworks, and Wood & Sons as listed in the minutes. A motion to award the listed Public Works material and equipment bids was made by Dave J. Brandner and seconded by Christine Weix; the motion carried.
The minutes record vendor names and unit prices/rates but do not include full contract documents or estimated total project costs beyond the line items recorded in the bid tables.
