Board approves construction change orders, $1.421M technology bid and anti-bullying facilitator; deputization item tabled
Summary
The Chartiers Valley board approved three construction change orders and accepted a Horizon technology bid totaling $1,421,100; it approved a $1,500 facilitator for an anti-bullying forum and tabled a tax-collector deputization at the Jan. 10 meeting.
At its Jan. 10, 2017 workshop/special action meeting, the Chartiers Valley Board of School Directors approved a series of construction change orders, awarded a technology contract for the middle-school/high-school project and approved a community anti-bullying facilitator, while tabling an item on deputizing a deputy tax collector.
Construction manager Jason Day reported that Phase 2B — located behind the cafeteria and food court where the new service elevator will be installed — has started and is anticipated to be complete by June 1, 2018. Day said middle-school structural steel erection is ongoing and that steel for the gym should be on site in early February; a bridge connector between structures remains to be built. At the high school, Day said the auditorium work is complete and in punch-list and closeout stages and that performing-arts drywall and Tech Ed work are progressing.
