Gretchen, a library staff member, told the Bee Cave City Council at its March 24 meeting that the city's fifth annual Books and Beasts Festival will be held over the weekend of April 10'11.
She said an Evening with the Author event is scheduled for Friday, April 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., featuring author Lisa Wingate in conversation with Sarah Bird, with registration available online. The free festival will follow on Saturday, April 11 from 1 to 5 p.m.; organizers expect author panels, a concert, a nature tent with honey tasting and education activities, and about 15 authors in attendance. "Registration for that is now open on our, Books and Bees website, booksandbeesfestival.com," she said.
Gretchen thanked sponsors including Third Coast Bank (formerly Keystone Bank) as the title sponsor and noted other supporters such as Cesium Astro, Next Level Urgent Care, Primrose Schools, Hill Country Galleria, Sonesta and Friends of B Cave Library. She encouraged council and residents to share event details and said staff and volunteers will continue preparations.
City leaders thanked organizers and noted the event is a community highlight.
