Aaron told the council the position is grant‑funded and scheduled to end Dec. 31; he said Connor is aware the funding is not permanent and that the town intends the appointment to support transitions and onboarding before the grant expires.
King spoke briefly from the podium, saying his top priority would be continuity of the office’s current work and a focus on seniors’ access to behavioral-wellness resources: “Access to behavioral wellness resources to seniors in town is absolutely the priority,” he said.
Councilors asked how the office would be located and how transitions would proceed; staff said many human services programs are centered at the senior center and the appointment would be consistent with existing programming. The council voted by roll call to approve the appointment.
