The East Grand Forks City Council on Dec. 16 approved several routine and administrative items in a single meeting.
The council promoted Cole Rodney to corporal in the police department (Resolution 25-12-96) and authorized the mayor and city administrator to sign the fifth amended and restated joint powers agreement for the Pine to Prairie Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. Council also approved beginning the hiring process for a public works equipment operator and added the Minnesota Paid Family and Medical Leave policy to the city personnel policy.
The council considered a resolution (25-12-97) authorizing purchases from Border States Trophy for goods referenced in check #45525 totaling $160.00 and noted on the record that Council member Tim Riopel is personally financially interested in that contract. After disclosure, the council voted to authorize the purchase.
Council authorized payment of accounts payable invoices totaling $595,091.17 and approved the Dec. 12 payroll. A motion to adjourn followed; the meeting closed after a voice vote.
These items were transacted with motions, seconds, and roll-call votes as recorded in the meeting transcript; most passed without extended discussion.
