Bee Cave honors Lieutenant Vincent Montez for 20 years of service

Mayor Kara King on Monday presented a proclamation honoring Lieutenant Vincent Montez for 20 years of service to the City of Bee Cave.
Interim Chief Pittman introduced Montez and praised him as the department's "backbone," noting Montez has 27 years in law enforcement and 20 years with Bee Cave. "He is second to none," Pittman said, adding that Montez is a natural leader with extensive training and community ties.
The proclamation read by Mayor Kara King recorded Montez's start date with the city as September 2005, his designation as patrol lieutenant in August 2006, and described his record of training and public-service contributions. It noted Montez is a master peace officer, a Leadership Command College graduate and has thousands of hours of training.
Lieutenant Vincent Montez thanked city leaders, cited the support of his family and colleagues, and reflected on his career in Bee Cave policing. "I will continue to bring excellence to this department," Montez said.
The council paused for a moment of silence after the recognition and then moved on to routine business.
