The council opened a public hearing on the proposed use of Bee Cave Development Corporation funds for the Magnolia Musical Theater Project covering the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024 and ending Sept. 30, 2025 (the agenda included an incorrect fiscal year reference that staff corrected). An Economic Development speaker said the project's prior request of $300,000 was reduced to $240,000 in the packet recommended by the EDC and that the project will also seek $30,000 in hotel‑occupancy‑tax funds.
Mayor King opened the hearing for public comment; no members of the public spoke. The hearing was closed and the council noted no vote would be taken at the Dec. 9 meeting. Staff said the item will be considered further at future meetings, following the Economic Development Corporation’s recommendation.
