Medford school board adopts consolidated bylaws and policies

The Medford Area Public School District Board of Education adopted a consolidated set of bylaws and policies during its Feb. 23 regular meeting.
Board Member Aemus Balsis moved and Board Member John Zuleger seconded a resolution that "the bylaws and policies published on the District website and codified in the comprehensive document entitled ‘Bylaws and Policies of the Medford Area Public School District Board of Education’ are hereby adopted and that all bylaws and policies heretofore adopted by the Medford Area Public School District Board of Education are hereby rescinded." The motion carried.
The resolution covers policies labeled 0100 through 9800.01 and includes a severability clause providing that if any policy or part of a policy is found inconsistent with law or invalidated, the remaining bylaws and policies remain in effect. The board record links the adopted policies to the district website at www.medford.k12.wi.us.
Board members did not record further amendments to the text during the meeting. The adoption replaces prior, separately adopted policy materials with the newly codified comprehensive document. The meeting adjourned at 6:59 p.m.
