Broadband expansion underway in Chattahoochee County; 118 locations still unserved, plan says

Citing the December 2024 FCC availability data (released May 2025), the plan states 1,174 locations have fixed broadband service, while another 1,011 locations are encumbered by grant commitments from sources such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture Telcom Infrastructure Project, ARPA/SLFRF allocations and the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund. Grant recipients named in the plan include Charter Fiberlink/Spectrum, Flint Electric/Conexon Connect, and Public Service Telephone Company.
Despite the grant activity, the plan reports 118 remaining unserved locations (marked red on the availability map included in the appendix). The county says it will continue to facilitate deployment to those locations and to encourage improvements to low‑speed service where providers are present. The plan also notes a state speed benchmark increase and references the ACE Act (SB 402) and the Georgia Broadband Deployment Initiative as policy context for local broadband planning.
The broadband section appears in the plan’s technical appendices and will inform the county’s outreach to providers and its pursuit of federal and state broadband funding.
