Superintendent praises Holston View, board recognition and a large hands-only CPR training effort

"What makes Holston View so special is the things that were said by your staff and students, teamwork, family, collaboration," Dr. Tudor said, noting multiple students and staff emphasized "love" and "family" in a video presentation. He thanked principals and staff across the district by name and credited a recent board retreat with strengthening the board's collaborative work.
Dr. Tudor also highlighted a hands-only CPR initiative organized with the Sullivan County Health Department and the Health Council, reporting that more than 700—he referenced "715" as the last number he heard—students and community members were trained. "Folks who are treated with hands only CPR are 2 or 3 times more likely to survive a catastrophic event than those who were not treated with anything," he said, and praised the district for setting up training both during a school day and at a recent home football game.
The superintendent reiterated appreciation for principals during National Principal's Month and thanked staff for their ongoing work. The remarks closed with routine board business and the meeting adjourned later in the evening.
