TIFT COUNTY, Ga. — County staff previewed a request tied to a $40 million tax-exempt TEFRA bond the Hospital Authority plans to use for facility improvements.
County Attorney Anthony Rowell told the board the hospital intends to borrow $40,000,000, with the bonds guaranteed by the hospital’s gross revenues; Rowell emphasized that “the County is not guaranteeing the debt.” He also said the resolution document attached to the packet contained an error and that a corrected version would be included with the regular-session materials.
The Board indicated it would place Resolution No. 2026-06 on the consent agenda for the March 9 meeting. No vote or formal approval occurred at the March 2 work session.
