Maywood trustees deadlock on lifting liquor-license moratorium for Lucky Bernie's

Trustee A. Sanchez moved to lift the moratorium and approve the application for Ramzi Fakhouri, the applicant associated with Lucky Bernie's, and Trustee K. Wellington seconded. The minutes record Ayes from Mayor Edwenna Perkins and Trustees A. Sanchez and K. Wellington; Nays from Trustees I. Brandon, M. Lightford and R. Rivers. Absent was Trustee H. Yarbrough.
Village Clerk Viola Mims and Village Attorney Michael Jurusik advised that additional documentation and information should be provided; the board agreed to revisit the license request at the August meeting after staff supplies the requested materials.
Because the motion failed, no license was granted at the July meeting and the moratorium remains in place pending further board action.
