Maywood approves liquor license stock transfer and temporary Class E license for festival

The Village of Maywood’s board on June 5 approved two liquor-license items: a 49% corporate-stock transfer for Supermercado’s Class B liquor license at 523 Lake Street and an ordinance to create and issue a Class E temporary liquor license to allow alcohol service at the Zacatecano Festival on July 22.
Trustee Kimyada Wellington moved to approve the stock transfer; Trustee Ana Sanchez seconded the motion. Separately, trustees approved creation and issuance of a temporary Class E license for municipal property to accommodate festival alcohol sales. Both measures passed unanimously with Mayor Edwenna Perkins and the present trustees voting in favor; Trustee R. Rivers was absent.
The board did not discuss changes to license conditions, enforcement plans for the event, or specific hours of service for the temporary license during the meeting. Licensing records and related permit documentation are maintained by the Clerk’s Office as part of the public record.
