Coleman R. Bryant, Chesterfield County attorney, advised council that the Bay Springs Volunteer Fire Department requested a fire dues increase from $60 to $80 per improved parcel. Bryant said he will draft an ordinance to raise the assessment from $60 to $80 for improved parcels served by the Bay Springs volunteer fire district.
The briefing record shows the request was placed on the agenda for ordinance drafting; council did not adopt the increase during the March 16 session.
Any change to fire dues will require the formal ordinance process before implementation.
