Village hears timeline and detour plan for Amazon-linked roadwork on County N and TT

Village public-works staff briefed the Board of Trustees on March 18 about the off-site roadway improvements tied to the Amazon facility, including roundabout modifications, ramp restriping, and full local closures staged to minimize overall construction time.
Engineering lead Josh summarized the scope and the traffic modeling assumptions: "The traffic report assumed ... an average of 788 employees per shift, 2 shifts a day," and that delivery truck traffic should be routed to I-94. Staff described a two-stage construction plan that would include a full closure of County TT (estimated two to two-and-a-half months) followed by a full closure of County N; the county is also scheduling reconstruction of a nearby bridge so staff and the county are coordinating timing.
Public Works staff said local access for residents and emergency services will be maintained during closures but through traffic will be detoured. Kyla, Public Works, said the county has final design authority but that village staff will host or help host a public information meeting and post project materials on the village website.
Trustees asked about sightlines, commercial-truck separation at the northern access, and whether interim pavement markings or night paving would be used during work. Staff said many details are nearly finalized and that the village will publish updated plans and hold a public meeting when the county and developer finalize the permitting schedule.
Trustees encouraged a robust outreach plan (mailers and QR codes to the village project page) and staff said they would aim to provide accessible project information and a timeline to residents.
