Ionia Public Schools administrators provided a brief financial update and grant announcement during the board’s Aug. 18 meeting.
Executive Director of Business and Finance Jammie Sprank reported sinking fund activity through July 31, 2025, listing revenue of $9,108,912.80 and expenditures of $7,171,978.00. Sprank provided a year-to-date summary of sinking fund revenues and expenditures to the board.
Superintendent Benjamin Gurk announced the district had been awarded a $268,273 early literacy grant and noted completed summer projects at Boyce Elementary. Gurk also reminded the board and community of an upcoming "Coffee with the Superintendent" on Aug. 23 and mentioned the district’s planned November 2025 bond discussions.
Materials on the budget performance report and sinking fund activity were provided to the board as part of the consent and financial-update items.
