At its April 28 meeting the Medford Area Public School District Board elected Dave Fleegel president and Don Everhard vice president, designated official depositories and newspaper, and appointed WASB and CESA delegates as part of routine organizational business.
The Medford Area Public School District Board of Education reorganized its leadership and completed routine organizational business at its April 28 regular meeting at the district office board room.
President Dave Fleegel called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., and roll call showed nine board members and District Administrator Laura Lundy present. "This meeting has been posted in accordance with the state open meeting law," Fleegel said.
Board member Jodi Nuernberger reported spring election results. Don Everhard nominated Fleegel for president; a motion to close nominations and cast a unanimous ballot carried. For vice president, Steve Deml nominated John Zuleger and Don Everhard self-nominated; ballots gave Everhard five votes to Zuleger's four, electing Everhard vice president. John Zuleger nominated Steve Deml for clerk and the board approved the nomination by unanimous ballot; Dave Fleegel nominated Brian Hallgren for treasurer and the board approved that nomination similarly.
The board also approved routine organizational items, including designation of official depositories (Abby Bank; Nicolet National Bank; Forward Financial; Associated Bank; WISC — Wisconsin Investment Series Cooperative; and Mid America) and named Star News as the district’s official newspaper. John Zuleger was appointed WASB (Wisconsin Association of School Boards) delegate and Aemus Balsis was named alternate; Dave Fleegel was appointed as the CESA representative with Don Everhard as alternate.
These organizational votes were taken by motions on the consent/organizational portion of the agenda and were recorded as carried. The board then proceeded to regular business items, including finance and facilities matters.
