FSUS board authorizes chair to end St. Joe land‑donation agreement

Based on that review, she recommended terminating the agreement and reopening negotiations at a later date if both parties wish to do so.
The motion to grant authority to Chair Marshall was moved by Katie Perkins, seconded by Dr. Brandon Bowden and passed without objection. The board directed counsel to prepare the termination correspondence for the chair’s signature; the motion notes that university and board leadership remain open to future discussions about the parcel and any related seat expansion.
The decision ends the current process to acquire the 17‑acre parcel as described in the agreement; the board did not adopt a replacement agreement at the meeting. Next steps include drafting and sending the termination letter and, if both parties agree, scheduling follow‑up conversations with university counsel and St. Joe representatives.
