Burr Ridge amends Marriott liquor license to allow front-desk pantry sales

Board approved an amendment to the Marriott’s Class K liquor license to include a front-door pantry point of sale allowing single-can or single-glass purchases at check-in; the hotel confirmed staff serving alcohol will be at least 21.
The board approved an ordinance amending section 25 o 9 of the Burr Ridge Municipal Code to add an additional point of sale for the Marriott’s existing Class K liquor license so the hotel can sell single cans or glasses of alcohol at the front-desk pantry.
Evan explained the liquor code requires all points of sale be included when a licensee establishes new locations such as a pantry outside a bar; the Marriott sought to add the front-desk pantry as a licensed point of sale. Trustees asked about age checks; the applicant confirmed the hotel will staff the point of sale with employees at least 21 years old.
A motion to amend the ordinance received a second and passed by roll call (6-0). The ordinance amendment was adopted as described in the staff presentation.
