Burr Ridge OKs up to $110,000 for modular police scenario-based training program

The Burr Ridge Board voted to purchase a scenario-based police training program and modular tactical house from Action Target of Provo, Utah, in an amount not to exceed $110,000.
Trustee Smith sought clarification about the intended location and timing, noting the village had previously proposed renovating 453 Commerce Street and later leasing a larger space. "Clarification though, it's 1000 square foot tactical house, and I just wanna make sure the intent is to have that go at 453 Commerce," Trustee Smith said. Staff replied the system is modular and can be moved, and that staff offered to set it up in-house at no cost. "The item is pretty collapsible. It's a modular system, so it's not like it's 1000 hard uncollapsible square feet," staff said.
After discussion the board moved and seconded the purchase; since it involved a monetary expenditure a roll call was taken and the motion carried 6-0.
Staff described the purchase as a training investment and noted relocation options if future facility plans change.
