New commissioner Simone Morris introduces herself to Norwalk gender-equity panel

The Norwalk Commission on Gender Equity welcomed Simone Morris at its April 20 special meeting. Morris introduced herself as a Norwalk resident since 2002 and described her professional work in leadership development and workplace inclusion.
"My name is Simone e Morris, and I'm a Norwalk resident since 2002. I have my own business since 2015. My focus is as a leadership development consultant and executive career coach," Morris said, and added she hoped to contribute "a great deal" while learning from other commissioners.
The chair thanked Morris and noted her background had been circulated in advance. Commissioners said the recent "Elevate and Lead" event showed the commission's potential to partner with local schools and nonprofits; Morris said she looked forward to offering fresh ideas and supporting outreach and social-media planning.
Next steps: Morris will join volunteers working on the commission's social-media project and help shape outreach and inclusion efforts.
